The Karen Ortiz Snowball Cotillion is a Christmas party for the disabled community of northern NM, featuring a catered sit-down dinner, music from a live band, dancing, a visit from Santa Claus and gifts for the guests. The event and the sponsoring 501(c)(3) agency are named after Karen Ortiz, whose picture with Santa is the logo. Karen was an exceptional young woman who loved attending the Cotillion every December. She loved to listen to music and dance. After her passing in 2010, her family decided to sponsor the Cotillion and carry it on in her name. It is not itself a fundraiser but instead is free of charge to the disabled to provide them a winter celebration and help them experience the joys of the holiday season. It is paid for entirely by donations and with the help of community volunteers.
The 2019 Karen Ortiz Snowball Cotillion will be held on Saturday, December 7, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Santa Maria de la Paz Community Center, 11 College Avenue, Santa Fe, NM. If you would like to be on our invite list, please contact us at the phone number above. Guests must present their invitations at the door.
We wouldn't be able to make this happen without the generosity of our donors. If you would like to donate to our event, please contact us.
We are also always looking for volunteers to set up on the morning of the event and for volunteers to work at the event. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer.
